Swallow Parlour is in North Devon but is within half a mile from the Cornish border, giving easy access to both spectacular coastlines.

The popular Tamar Lakes Reservoirs are within walking distance of the property, and offer scenic walks, cycling & running routes, sailing, windsurfing, and kayaking. Lower Tamar is steeped in history, originally built as water supply for the Bude canal. 

To the south 

  • the Cornish resort town of Bude which offers sandy beaches, a tidal pool, mini golf, and a range of shops and restaurants Visit Bude Link
  • For those wanting to travel a little further, there are many attractions within an hour’s drive of the property, including Tintagel Castle, Padstow, Boscastle and the picturesque fishing village of Port Isaac, and the wild beauty of Bodmin Moor.

To the North

  • There are numerous places to visit including Clovelly - This unique historic village has pretty cottages all the way down its steep cobbled street which leads to the ancient harbour. Clovelly Village Link
  • Westward Ho! Is known for its surfing seas and a long expanse of clean sand, backed by a pebble ridge and grasslands which extends for about three miles. This is Traditional Seaside town with amusements, go carts, coastal walks and many catering facilities. 
  • Hartland Quay is a popular local tourist destination and offers a view into an historic maritime past as well as a museum, unusual rock formations, rock pools and sandy coves. The Hartland Quay hotel offers traditional pub food and local ales.Visit Hartland Quay Link
  • RHS Rosemoor Gardens is surrounded by over 100 acres of woodland with the River Torridge running along the western border. Features include a rose garden with about 2,000 rose plants; an Arboretum; herb, fruit and vegetable gardens; and alpine house. A great day out for the family with plenty for children to do and see.   • Swallow Parlour is located on a traditional sheep and beef farm of over 200 acres. It is part of a Countryside Stewardship Scheme ran by Natural England and the farming is conducted with consideration for wildlife. With over 1500 trees have been planted recently 2022, the creation of over 1000m of new hedgerows and includes 43 acres of Culm grassland habitat which is nationally important for wildlife such as, barn owls, bats, lapwings, snipe, skylark and many other farmland birds.
